Car enthusiasts are expected to flock to the Kumbia Memorial Hall this Sunday to marvel at the vintage vehicles of the Veteran Car Club of Australia – and be in with a chance to win a giant television set.

The Brisbane-based Queensland branch of the club is holding a rally as a tribute to its longest-serving member, Kingaroy resident Graham Crittenden.

The club’s 2021 President’s Run coincides with the Kumbia Memorial Hall’s public barbecue and giant raffle draw, which will see lucky winners walking away with a 58-inch television set, a family-sized barbecue and much more.

The barbecue is all that remains of the inaugural Kumbia Country Festival, which had to be postponed to next year amid the recent covid-19 resurgence.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our beautiful hall on the day of our major fund-raising raffle draw,” hall committee secretary Gayle Carroll said.

“It is very unfortunate that we had to postpone the festival, but these are the times we live in.

“We hope Kumbia and district residents – and anyone else who would like to – come along to enjoy the burgers and raffle draw.

“Raffle tickets will be on sale and everyone is welcome.”

All prizes have been donated by generous local businesses.
