Kilkivan residents and motorists are urged to be cautious as firefighter crews monitor a grass fire along the Wide Bay Highway.
Multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are on scene at a vegetation fire burning near the intersection of Blacksnake Rd, Kilkivan.
The fire broke out earlier this afternoon and is currently posing no threat to property.
Fire crews are working to contain the fire and crews will patrol it throughout the afternoon.
Smoke haze is affecting the Wide Bay Highway and motorists are advised to slow down and drive to the conditions.
Nearby residents may be affected by a smoke haze.
Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.
If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
