Christmas pop up shop comes to Kingaroy

South Burnett families are spoilt for choice for unique Christmas gifts thanks to the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery’s pop up shop.

In 2020, the decision was made to hold a Christmas Pop up Shop at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery.

The venue Gallery 2 was turned into a Christmas Wonderland and was so successful that it was again held in 2021.

The Pop up Shop was expanded to take in the whole gallery. Artisans from the South Burnett were all invited to take part.

The Christmas Pop up Shop offers the community the opportunity to shop locally for their Christmas gifts, while encouraging and supporting local artisans in their endeavours and importantly, in this economic climate, keeping dollars local.

The KAT Christmas Pop Up Shop 2022 has an exciting range of new and unique quality products. All items are handmade and are the work of 35 local artists and crafts persons.

The Kingaroy Art Team invites everyone to a preview opening on Friday, 25 November between 5pm and 7pm. Lucky door prize vouchers will be drawn throughout the evening.

Georgia Zelinski, is one of the first time exhibitors.

She is a very talented young teenager, who loves to weld recycled metal into must have items.

Boot racks, fire pits and coat racks are some of her specialties.

Georgia credits her design tech teacher for her interest in welding and the beginning of her small business ‘Welded in the Dust’.

Other exhibitors come from Blackbutt to the Bunyas, from Goomeri to Kingaroy and places in between. They are all as passionate about their craft as Georgia.

Artisans will be displaying slumped glass, textiles, jewellery, tin garden art, carved items, recycled items, pallet woodwork, pottery, Italian glass beads, silk scarves, watercolours and acrylic artworks, prints, a variety of handmade cards and so much more.

The KAT Christmas Pop up Shop will be open from 21 November to 23 December at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery, Haly Street, opposite the Peanut Silos. Prepare to be amazed!
