Plans for the Borumba Pumped Hydro Project are flowing ahead.
Queensland Hyrdo is investigating a potential pumped hydro energy storage facility at Borumba Dam, located near Imbil, south west of Gympie.
Powerlink Queensland will be building two new transmission lines from the Borumba site to existing substations at Tarong/ Halys and Woolooga.
Powerlink have organised for more drop-in sessions in the new year.
Over the coming weeks the community will have the chance to ask their questions about the project.
These sessions will run over a few hours to allow for questions and feedback with individual project team members at a time which is convenient for each individual team member. There will be no formal presentations.
Previous feedback from community members showed that this drop-in format was preferred to allow for one-on-one conversations.
Community drop-in sessions include:
Thursday, 19 January – Moore Hall – 10am – 1pm
Thursday, 19 January – Kilcoy Memorial Hall and Cultural Centre – 4pm-7pm
Wednesday, 1 February – Yarraman Memorial Hall – 10am-1pm
Wednesday, 1 February – Maidenwell Hall – 3pm-6pm
Thursday, 2 February – Kumbia Memorial Hall – 10am-1pm
Thursday, 2 February – Nanango Cultural Centre – 3pm-6pm
