Ongoing search: ‘Keep an eye out for Luke’

A massive effort of police, emergency services and volunteers continues in the search for Luke Fergusson.

The 28-year-old man was first reported missing from Stalworth in the South Burnett seven days ago.

Rescue helicopters, private aircraft, land and vehicle assets have joined a large-scale police deployment, searching a 27-square-kilometre area as concerns for Luke’s whereabouts continue.

With overnight temperatures dropping concerns increase, and police are appealing for anyone in the areas near Proston, Stalworth, Abbeywood to search their properties and remain on the look-out for the man.

He is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cm tall, with a proportionate build, brown hair and brown eyes.

Luke also has a medical condition and may appear disorientated if sighted.

South Burnett councillor Kathy Duff has been one of the volunteers at the search for Luke.

She reported that the army have arrived on Thursday afternoon, 15 June, and will join the search tomorrow.

There will be a special team checking empty buildings through the night.

QPS District Inspector Scott Stahlhut urges anyone in the vicinity of Proston to be vigilant and keep an eye out for Luke.
