Same time, same celebrations, new place…
Wondai’s annual Christmas Eve Carnival will be held at the Wondai Showgrounds this year.
Due to recent South Burnett Regional Council regulations and challenges posed with holding the event at Wondai’s Coronation Park, the Wondai Show Society decided to relocate the celebrations to the showgrounds.
This decision was not taken lightly, but it will ensure a seamless continuation of the cherished holiday tradition while adhering to necessary regulations and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all attendees.
Wondai Show Society President Amanda Palmer appreciated and understood the sentimental value of holding the carnival in Wondai’s Coronation Park which is where the tradition had been cherished for more than 70 years.
“However, in light of recent challenges and circumstances beyond our control, the decision to relocate the carnival to the showgrounds was voted upon at our recent meeting. This move ensures not only the continuation of our beloved carnival but also guarantees a smooth and secure celebration for all,” she said.
“We look forward to creating new memories at the showgrounds and appreciate the community’s understanding and continued support in these unprecedented times.”
The venue change was made to ensure the event was a safe, secure environment for all participants and it complied with recent council guideline changes.
The Wondai Showgrounds already has robust infrastructure and facilities and simplified event logistics for both organisers and attendees.
New to this year’s Wondai Christmas Eve Carnival will be a carnival bar selling beverages for you to toast to the holiday season with friends and family as well as an array of market stalls selling everything from handmade crafts to delectable treats.
Wondai’s Christmas Eve Carnival will be held on Sunday, 24 December from 5-9pm at the Wondai Showgrounds at 12 Kent St, Wondai.
