You’re invited by the Kumbia community to assist the Hall Committee in its charter to preserve the memories of our fallen soldiers from the various conflicts.
The Hall stands as a living monument not only to our past residents but all of us since its opening in 1922. Sadly at 102 years of age its legs need replacing!
We have had advice that the hall will reach a crisis point for its stumps by Christmas 2024.
This is an urgent need and we are short of funds to complete the first stage. Total costs for the restoration of the hall sits at $200,000.
We have been professionally advised the hall requires immediate replacement of stumps which have rotted off and others which no longer support the bearers.
If we leave it any longer it will twist the structure of the hall resulting in major works to save the hall.
The ideal result would be for the hall to be part of the Kumbia community for the next hundred years.
To do this we are starting a fundraising appeal to raise $50,000 to begin Stage One of the process.
This involves replacing the affected posts and laser leveling of the building. Work to begin in 3 months.
We are asking interested people or businesses to be a Local Hero and “Buy A Stump” at $500 each.
An Honour Board will be created to hang beside our Honour Board of fallen soldiers to recognize your vital contribution of $500. Your family name will “Liveth Forever More” along with our soldier’s names.
A fitting recognition of your connection and contribution to Kumbia.
Please know that help from you helps us make our community a better place for everyone to live or visit.
Donations/sponsorship and volunteer work has helped us serve our community in more ways than one, and we are grateful.
Feel free to contact us for further information on this vital appeal for our community.
