Police have revealed a hat has been found in the Murgon area during a search for missing young man Jack McLennan.
The 27-year-old man was last seen at Ficks Crossing on Friday night, 4 October.
The hat was located by officers on Thursday, 10 October near Murgon’s McAlister and McLucas streets.
The hat is understood to have belonged to Jack, who was last seen between 8pm and 10pm last Friday, travelling on foot in the Ficks Crossing area.
Jack is described as caucasian in appearance, approximately 185cm tall with light brown hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and dark shorts.
The hat discovery comes after a pair of white sneakers were found, which were believed to belong to the missing man.
Police are appealing to any witnesses, particularly those who camped overnight in the Ficks Crossing area to come forward immediately.
The person who police would like to speak to was travelling in a dark coloured vehicle with a roof top tent.
Search and rescue efforts recommenced in the Ficks Crossing area a week on from the last sighting of Jack and will continue into the weekend.
Up to 30 SES personnel will assist with the search tomorrow, 12 October, as well as additional police and remote aerial support assets.
Anyone with information about Jack’s whereabouts is urged to immediately contact police.
Residents in the Ficks Crossing and Murgon area are urged to check their properties, including outbuildings and sheds for any signs of Jack.
