Mt Perry Races on track to be a winner

The 2024 Mount Perry Race Day is on track to be a winner, with a five-race program set for this Saturday.

On 16 November, the program line-up includes the 1400m Evolution Mining Mount Perry Cup and the 1000m Burnett to the Beach Series.

This year’s Fashions on the Field theme, ‘Racing through the 50s’ will give attendees a chance to showcase a range of styles from classic glamour to modern sophistication.

One category, the Milinery of the Day, is expected to be firecely competitive with stunning hats taking centre stage.

The winner of the Mount Perry Fashions on the Field will receive automatic entry into the ‘Best of the Burnett’ and will represent the North Burnett in Brisbane.

The eagerly anticipated event will be the Mount Perry Jock’s Plate after Race 5, where daring participants race down the home straight in their underwear for cash prizes -including the Fillies Dash and the Kids Scamper races.

The event will be family-friendly, featuring a jumping castle and a wide selection of food vendors.

The races are well supported by sponsors Evolution Mining, Burnett Realty and Livestock, Rum City Foods, Ross Gray Motor City, Bucca Hotel, Fig Tree Camp, Mack and Lulu, MHR Lawyers and Tirroan Hotel.

Punters can expect live music from Mark Lavender in the evening, with the bar open late.

The gates will open at 11am, with the bar opening at 11.30am. On-site bush camping will be available on the day for a small donation.

General entry tickets are now available online for $15: www.trybooking.com/CVHVH or can be purchased at the gate for $20.
