The 2025 South Burnett Careers Market is set to be bigger than ever, with more than 40 organisations and training providers participating in the interactive event at TAFE Queensland’s Kingaroy campus on Thursday, 24 July, from 8:30am to 3pm.

Designed for community members and senior school students, attendees can discuss job prospects with employers and explore courses with training organisation representatives.

TAFE Queensland General Manager of the South West Region, Kate Venables, extends the invitation to all members of the community to attend this free event.

“The South Burnett Region is continuing to experience job growth across a range of industries — from the traditional trades, food and meat processing to hospitality,” said Mrs Venables.

“This event is a great opportunity to chat with local employers about job opportunities.

You can also tour the facilities and workshops at the Kingaroy campus, meet with our experienced trainers, and get involved in hands-on career activities.”

“At TAFE Queensland, we are dedicated to equipping South Burnett residents with industry-aligned, practical training to help them thrive in their chosen career pathways and we can’t wait for the community to join us on campus for this event”.

Among the wide range of organisations participating will be the team from Stanwell to discuss job opportunities and SunPork Fresh Foods will serve their famous pork sliders.

Representatives from the South Burnett Regional Council will be on hand to talk about local traineeships and careers in local government, while emergency services staff members from the Queensland Police, Fire, and Ambulance Services will be available.

The University of Queensland’s Maker Space will be featured, showcasing innovative projects and offering hands-on activities for attendees interested in technology and engineering.

In addition to the University of Queensland, the University of Tasmania, QUT, and the University of Southern Queensland will also be in attendance offering attendees a comprehensive look at higher education opportunities.

Local tradies are encouraged to come along and meet the team from TradeTools, Makita, and Metabo, who will be in attendance with their current stock and merchandise on hand.

The Rotary Club will be flipping BBQ sausages to raise funds for charity and Kingaroy State High School hospitality students will be baristas for the day, whipping up delightful coffees.

And don’t miss out on Whanau Kai’s array of hot drinks and scrumptious snacks.
