Have you got a bit of bacon spirit to give to the Kingaroy community?
Kingaroy BaconFest is keen to expand their pig crew with more volunteers at the festival, which is held on Friday, 15 and Saturday, 16 August.
BaconFest Volunteer Coordinator Amber Goldsmith shared they had about 40 volunteers already signed up.
“Get amongst it, be part of it,” she said.
BaconFest is keen to round up legends who are ready to get their trotters dirty, to help the 2025 bacon festival sizzle louder than ever.
You might be a bacon buff, a festival fanatic, keen for some pork-powered fun, or just passionate about your Kingaroy community.
“You don’t have to volunteer all day, it can just be a three-hour timeslot,” Ms Goldsmith said.
“Be involved in the community, it’s a really special atmosphere, it’s incredible.”
There’s a variety of roles which need to be filled from Thursday to Sunday, ranging from looking after gate entries during the festival, to assisting with set-up and pack down.
“There’s lots of things to do,” she said.
Year 11 student Matti van Schyndel, is the youngest Kingaroy BaconFest committee member this year.
“You don’t realise how much you get out of helping until you actually help,” she said.
Miss van Schyndel is the Youth Precinct Coordinator and has loved volunteering at the bacon festival over the years.
“It feels good to be part of something, to help put it on, you get an adrenaline high,” she said.
“You get to be part of putting something so awesome on for the community.”
