South Burnett ratepayers are reminded to keep an eye out for their rates notices.
South Burnett Regional Council officially issued the rates notices for 1 July to 31 December 2025 on Friday, 29 August. The discount date has been set for Friday, 3 October.
If ratepayers have not received their rates notice by Monday, 8 September, they are urged to contact their local customer service centre for a copy to be mailed out.
Ratepayers are also advised to note that the last date to receive the 10 per cent on the notice is incorrectly set at 24 September. The true discount date is set for Friday, 3 October.
Changing how you receive your rates
South Burnett Regional Council ratepayers have the chance to win $500 credit by opting to receive their future rates notices by email.
Ratepayers who currently receive a hardcopy rate notice via post but would now like to change their delivery method to email can visit the council’s website to see a full list of the terms and
conditions.
After accepting the terms and conditions, to enter this opportunity complete the questions advising your name, property address and the email address you would like to be used to receive all future rate notices.
For all existing property owners that have previously selected to receive rate notices by email, an email will be sent to the email on file with the link to SurveyMonkey to complete a simple form to confirm your inclusion in the raffle.
A note on water readings
The council had to estimate some water meter readings included in this levy due to an obstruction, vegetation, a locked fence or a dog on the premises.
To ensure your next reading is not estimated, ratepayers are urged to make access to the property available during September-December 2025
Financial hardship
Any ratepayers experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply for assistance by completing the financial hardship rates application on the council’s website.
