Longstanding Proston Local Ambulance Committee member David Hunter’s dedication was recently recognised.

At the local ambulance committee October meeting on 22 October Mr Hunter was presented with his 10 year membership certificate and service medal by Proston paramedic Nolan Jones.

Mr Hunter retired from his presidency and committee commitments earlier this year, and is enjoying a well earned break.

After a decade of serving the Proston LAC, Mr Hunter’s highlights included seeing the difference the group had made in the community from fundraising for much needed equipment, to organising first aid courses for community groups.

“I like to help in the community and maintain our ambulance set-up here in tiny little Proston,” Mr Hunter told Burnett Today in July when he retired.

Proston LAC, Mr Hunter shared, has one of the largest LAC memberships in Queensland.

“That’s great for a little place like Proston… all clubs struggle with volunteers, but people here feel passionate about maintaining our ambulance station,” he said.
