South Burnett councillors and business owners are arguing over whether funding for the Kingaroy Transformation Project should be directed to the shared zone in Glendon St or the beautification of the southern end of Kingaroy St.
Some business owners are concerned about the lack of car parks if the Glendon St project goes ahead, with a projected loss of 28 parks.
But the Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry president has proposed a solution to increase customer parking.
Meanwhile, the owners of a dilapidated building on Kingaroy St have their own ideas about how to address concerns arising from KTP and Kingaroy’s housing crisis.
However, given the run-down nature of their property, this could be a costly venture that may not be able to come to fruition without the help of other organisations.
SBRC councillors are continuing to discuss these options after being divided at a recent meeting over where funds should go.
