What an amazing term we have had – so many wonderful and exciting things have happened. We enjoyed a live performance of ‘The 13-Storey Treehouse’, invited our mums and nans for a special day, celebrated reading 100 books as a class, and had a very special visit from Johnathan Thurston.

In Maths we have been learning how to make patterns, and how to tell the time. We have [also] been looking at traditional Aboriginal stories this term and how these stories are told. Each Monday, we start with a yarning circle to tell our own personal weekend story.

In Science we have enjoyed learning how things grow and even found out where chocolate comes from.

Here is what some of the Prep/1 students had to say about what they have enjoyed this term:

Jupiter – I liked sports day; I loved the colourful parachute.

Mackenzie – I liked when we had sports carnival because we got to run, and I like running – it is good exercise.

Jazier – I love playing soccer with my friends at lunch.

Carter – Running, I love races. My favourite was when I got the biggest apple ever and got to dip it in chocolate.

Reggie – I like to play puzzles.

Maddison – I liked Mothers’ Day because I like making cupcakes.

Sophie – Having chocolate and apples in our science lesson.

Tyson – Sports day was fun. I love races and I got to meet Johnathan Thurston.

Lara – What I liked about this term was learning about clocks and cooking with Mrs Batt; I loved the cupcakes the best.

Billy – I like my friends.

Daniel – Sports day and getting chocolate and apples.

Rhiannon – Cooking, I loved making Weetbix slices with Mrs Batt because I like doing stuff in the kitchen.

Dean – 100 book day celebration was good because we got to bring in our favourite books and I love books.

Jamee – Cooking. We cooked fried rice and it was delicious. I also loved sports day.

Harlee – I like this school because I love the toast at breaky club.

Ariana – I really like Maths. You get to solve problems like 2+2=4. It’s fun to learn.
