Two grass fires burning in Burnett

Mannuem residents are urged to be cautious as a grass fire burns near Reed Creek Rd and Johnstons Rd.

A total of 14 QFES crews are currently attending to the blaze outside of Kingaroy.

The grassfire is posing no threat to property at this time and fire crews are working to contain the fire.

A QAS spokesperson said paramedics had been on standby while firefighters worked along the grass fire front.

No patients required treatment or transport following the grass fire.

QFES crews are monitoring another vegetation fire at Kilkivan today.

The grass fire is burning along the Wide Bay Highway, near the intersection of Blacksnake Rd, Kilkivan.

The Kilkivan fire is contained and posing no threat to property at this time.

Smoke may affect both the areas near both grass fires and motorists are advised to slow down and drive to conditions.

Nearby residents may be affected by a smoke haze.

Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.

If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
