Mount Perry residents are advised to avoid smoke currently affecting Heusman Street and the North Burnett Mount Perry township.
At this time, 1.32pm Monday, 20 September, there is no direct threat to property, although reduced air quality may cause health impacts for some people.
Residents are advised to drive with care as the smoke may reduce visibility, affect driving conditions and some roads may be closed.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have advised people in the area to:
– Follow health guidance and monitor live air quality information
– Avoid driving through smoke where possible and be aware of firefighters working in the area
– Stay indoors, and close windows and doors
– Keep respiratory medication close by
– If you have a bushfire survival plan, refer to it now
