‘Extensive search continues’: Where’s William?

Police divers have joined the extensive search for an elderly Dallarnil man today.

Queensland Police Service officers are continuing to coordinate the search for 78-year-old William Hetherington, who has been unaccounted for since Saturday.

Extensive aerial and land searches, involving police, SES, family, friends and the local community is on-going, including people on horse back, in vehicles, on motorbikes and on foot, after family raised the alarm when they were unable to contact William on 10 October.

He last spoke to family via the telephone at around 5.50pm on Saturday, 9 October from his property at Dallarnil, north east of Biggenden.

William, who is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cms tall with short, grey hair and green eyes, has a medical condition and grave fears are now held for his safety and wellbeing.

A Police Forward Command Post has been established on Hetheringtons Road.

The property William is missing on is approximately 400 acres and extensively covered by dense forest and bushland.
