South Burnett junior cricketers had the opportunity of a lifetime as they took to the pitch at Brisbane’s Gabba.

The players who participated in the Master Blasters series were invited to share the iconic field with Kingaroy cricket legends, Matthew Hayden and Holly Ferling on Thursday, 9 December.

Ferling was excited to welcome her former team onto the field on the second day of the Ashes Test.

“The Kingaroy Junior Cricket Club are the real deal – these Blasters are superstars of the future,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

Kingaroy junior cricket player Deegan Zemeck will never forget his time at The Gabba.

“It was awesome,” he said.

“Seeing Australia bat and doing the Mexican wave was a highlight for me, actually the whole thing was good.”
