Are you an aspiring Olympian in the South Burnett region?

Dual Olympian and Commonwealth Games Volleyball Silver Medalist Taliqua Clancy is calling on aspiring Kingaroy and Cherbourg athletes aged 13 to 23 to join the quest for medal success and register for the Queensland Academy of Sport’s Youfor2032 Talent Identification Program.

The talent scouts will be in Kingaroy on Wednesday 31 August and Cherbourg on Thursday, 1 September and encourage aspiring local Olympians aged 13 to 23 to register.

The program is designed to find athletes with extraordinary elite sporting capabilities, Youfor2032 will seed the dreams of aspiring athletes via a series of local testing sessions across Queensland in a bid to help the next Olympic and Paralympic champions reach their full potential ahead of Brisbane’s 2032 Games.

The Queensland Academy of Sport was pivotal in Taliqua’s road to Olympic success, pushing her to become the strongest version of herself with high-level coaches, training environments and facilities, and ‘formula one’ support teams.

Now, the Dual Olympian and Beach Volleyball champion is teaming up with QAS, calling on the next generation of Olympians aged 13 to 23 across Kingaroy and Cherbourg to take the leap and register for a testing session.

The Youfor2032 testing session will put aspiring Olympians through their paces in a series of endurance, agility and speed exercises in order for them to qualify as potential future stars.

“The chance to compete in a home game in Brisbane is a once-in-a-generation opportunity and I am excited to help Queensland Academy of Sport on their quest to find the next generation of medallists – hopefully from my hometown Kingaroy!” said Taliqua.

“We are on the hunt for young athletes with extraordinary sporting capabilities and I encourage aspiring local Olympians to register and give it a go – it could be you in 2032,” she added.
