Motor Cycle Riding Awareness

A fair crowd of bike riders, police and other interested members of the public turned out to the South Burnett’s “Shiny Side Up” motorcycle education and awareness day on Saturday, 27 August.

Visitors could mingle with bike racing legend Garry McCoy, industry professionals, local and visiting law enforcement, and learn a thing or two from a wide range of demonstrations and displays.

Police from the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Brisbane traveled to the South Burnett over the weekend to share their safety tips with motorists, who could also experience different driving scenarios courtesy of Shannon’s ‘Super Rig’ driving simulator.

Other displays and demos included motorbike maneuvering classes, a drag car show, and Speedway moto-cross bike riding.

Kingaroy’s Rotary Club provided visitors with tasty treats and cold drinks to round out the day.
