Fatal shed fire: Cops call for white van info

Detectives have released an image of a vehicle in an appeal for information in relation to a homicide investigation at Biggenden.

At approximately 12.20pm on 20 December 2022, police were called to a shed fire at a Fenwicks Road property.

Officers located Biggenden baker, 54-year-old Todd Mooney and his 10-year-old daughter Kirra deceased inside.

A crime scene was declared and following forensic examinations, police alleged the fire was deliberately lit.

Following extensive investigations detectives charged a 24-year-old Maryborough woman with two counts of murder and one count of arson on 6 January.

Her matter was heard in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 7 January, where she was remanded in custody before the matter to was brought before the Maryborough Magistrates Court on Monday, 9 January.

As part of ongoing investigations, police have released an image of a white Holden Barina wagon with a distinctive solar panel on the roof.

Investigators appeal to anyone who may have seen the vehicle between 10am and 2pm between Biggenden and Ban Ban Springs to come forward.
