Come plant a tree

This National Tree Day, come along and plant a tree.

The Friends of Carroll Nature Reserve and Native Plants Queensland Kingaroy invite the community to join them for a morning of weeding and tree planting in the beautiful five ha softwood scrub that is Carroll Nature Area in Kingaroy (near Fisher St).

Come and enjoy the beautiful rainforest and its native birds and animals in the heart of Kingaroy while helping remove the invasive weeds that threaten its integrity.

Stay for the tree planting or just bring your lunch and rub shoulders with like-minded folk who are passionate about preserving local green spaces and their native inhabitants.

The day will start with registrations and safety briefings at 9am, followed by tree planting at 11.30am. Lunch will follow at 12noon.

Please bring along:

• Drinking water/ lunch / chair

• PPE (Personal Protection Equipment): stout shoes, long trousers, long sleeves, gloves and a hat

• Digging tools: e.g. long trowel, ladies mattocks (some provided) secateurs

• Buckets or fertilizer bags for seed and bulb removal (some provided)

• Secateurs for bulb and seed snipping
