Skill up for in-demand jobs, learning vital pre-employment skills for an automotive serviceperson.

Regional Training Services is offering an eight day course in Kingaroy this March.

They aim to address the challenge of accessing relevant industry training in regional areas.

This hands-on course, starting mid-March, offers practical experience with computerised tyre balancing and tyre fitting equipment all in Regional Training Services’ mobile trailer.

With highly qualified and experienced automotive trainers, participants will receive focused, practical and relevant skills. Participants will also undertake and receive accredited units as well as trade style skills.

Whilst the tyre fitting industry is the primary target, participants will gain knowledge and experience that may be applicable anywhere in the automotive industry.

The free course will unlock employability and practical automotive industry skills training, led by specialist soft skills trainers and highly qualified and experienced automotive trainers.

This opportunity is perfect for anyone interested in a career in the automotive industry.

Participants will do eight days of sessions over two weeks -week one will be from 18 to 21 March and the second week will be from 25 to 28 March.

At the course, participants will learn the following skills:

Practical and trade skills:

• Tyre changing equipment operation

• Electronic wheel balancing

• Work Health and Safety

• Use of hydraulic lifting equipment and stands

• Use and Care of tools

Employability skills / Soft skills:

• Industry terminology

• Hidden jobs market

• Presentation skills

• Employability skills

• Work with roles, rights and protocols

There are limited spots available for this 8-day program, which includes practical and theoretical knowledge including employability skills.

The dress code for the program will be long trousers, dark coloured shirt and steel capped boots or shoes.

The program is free for eligible students, who are asked to bring a USI number, ID and a copy of their current resume (preferably a digital version on a USB).

A statement of attainment will be issued upon successful completion of the accredited competencies. A statement of attendance will be issued upon successful completion of non-accredited content.
