Have you ever been to the pig races?

Kilkivan State School’s Cattle Team are holding a fundraiser with a difference later this month.

On Saturday, 20 April from 11am, a ‘Backwards Raffle and Pig Races’ will be held at the Kilkivan Hotel.

“We are looking forward to a fun day surrounded by all our friends,” Cattle Team Coordinator Teresa Day said.

“We have an amazing community that support our Cattle Team and many of them have come out and sponsored Races and Pigs for our event.

“There will be Pig Auctions and Sweeps for every race, so many ways for everyone to be involved and have some fun.”

There will be a backwards raffle where 100 sold tickets have been sold and all 100 will be drawn.

“The lucky last three tickets to be drawn will share big cash prizes of $2,500,” Ms Day said.

There will also be spot prizes of Ariat bags, Aussie World passes, Mary Valley Rattler tickets, Beer and Wine.

There will also be a chance to win a pig in the sweeps and an auction chance to buy a pig.

“Our School Cattle Team has already been out and about in the Show Ring this year and has collected a few broad ribbons already,” Ms Day said.

“Our School Heifer Jen-Daview Rain T29 was awarded Reserve Champion Junior Heifer at both the Proston and Murgon Shows earlier this month.”
