Fire burns in Taromeo

The Queensland Fire Department are fighting to contain a vegetation fire at Taromeo, off Old Esk Road.

Seven crews have been on scene for a number of hours working to contain the fire, with the first arriving at 2pm, a QFD spokeswomen said.

Crews reported that large amounts of smoke have blanketed the area.

They have also requested a bulldozer to help create fire breaks, as they fight to keep the fire under control.

HQ plantations are also working with the crews to help contain the fire.
