A search and rescue operation has been launched in the Murgon area for a missing young man.
Jack Mclennan was last seen at Ficks Crossing, just outside Murgon, on Friday night, 4 October, between 8pm and 10pm and has not been seen or heard from since.
The 27-year-old man was reported missing on Saturday, 5 October.
He is described as Caucasian, approximately 185cm tall, with light brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and dark shorts.
Police conducted a broad search on Monday afternoon, 7 October, at Ficks Crossing and surrounding areas.
The local police continued the search for Jack from Tuesday morning, with the assistance of police on foot, motorbikes, police divers, SES, Remote Piloted Aerial System (RPAS) and Queensland Remote Area Tracking (QRAT) personnel.
Police are appealing to Jack and anyone who has any information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.
Inspector Scott Stahlhut said the search and rescue area had been expanded to include the broader Murgon area.
“Police would like residents in the area of Ficks Crossing and surrounds to conduct a search of their properties for any signs of Jack,” Inspector Stahlhut said.
“We currently have a number of specialised units on the ground conducting a search of waterways, banks and land in the area.
“Anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts is urged to come forward.”
