New details to look out for in search for Jack

Members of the public looking for 27-year-old Jack McLennan have been asked to keep an eye out for a different set of clothes than those police originally reported the missing man was wearing.

Mr McLennan, who went missing from South Burnett swimming spot Ficks Crossing on 4 October, was reported to have been wearing a black t-shirt and shorts at the time of his disappearance.

However, members of a community search effort have raised their suspicions the missing man may instead still be dressed in a dark green and black camouflage t-shirt and dark grey and black camo shorts, which he was pictured wearing in CCTV footage from a Murgon bottleshop on 4 October, hours before he was last seen.

Accordingly, their search party, which will set out from the Wondai IGA on Saturday morning, has been briefed to look out for Mr McLennan’s camo outfit – as have those perusing a new set of flyers distributed across the region.

A black hat and white pair of sneakers, which Mr McLennan was also pictured wearing in the CCTV footage, were already found by police search parties last week.

Jack McLennan is described as white-skinned, approximately 185cm tall with light brown hair and brown eyes.

Police have asked residents of the areas around Murgon and Wondai to check their properties, paying particular attention to sheds and other outbuildings for signs of the missing man.

Anyone with information about Mr McLennan’s whereabouts is urged to immediately contact police.

Police have also renewed their call for a person of interest to come forward, whom they believe may have seen Mr McLennan before his disapperance on 4 October.

The person, who officers believed was travelling in a dark-coloured car with a rooftop tent, was reportedly camping at Ficks Crossing on the night Mr McLennan was last seen.

If you see Jack McLennan, contact police on 131 444 or 1800 333 000, quoting reference number QP2401711494.
