GUIDE: 2024 State Election

Queenslanders will place their vote for the state election on Saturday, 26 October. (SUPPLIED)

This Saturday, 26 October, Queenslanders will go to the polls to decide their state representative.

However, some residents took advantage of early polling booths or postal voting opportunties and have already submitted their vote.

Callide residents will have six candidates to choose from on their ballot paper, while Nanango residents will have eight candidates to choose their representative from.

Early voting centres will still be open on Thursday, 24 October and Friday, 25 October from 8am to 6pm.

Near the North Burnett region, early voting for the Callide electorate is available at the QCWA Gayndah Branch and Gin Gin RSL Hall.

Meanwhile, Nanango electorate voters in the South Burnett can vote early at the Old Blackbutt General Store Precinct, Kingaroy Showgrounds or the Nanango Cultural Centre (48 Drayton St).

Electoral Commissioner Pat Vidgen reminds voters to bring their Voter Information Card with them to speed up the process.

“Voters are now receiving their maroon Voter Information Card in the mail and by taking it along to a booth, they will be marked-off faster. But, if you forget your card, you can still vote without it,” he said.
