Storms rock Burnett: power out, roads closed

North Burnett and South Burnett residents, along with many other households in southeast Queensland, were rocked by a severe storm last night.

As a result of the storm, some power lines are down causing power outages and some roads are blocked.

NORTH BURNETT

According to the North Burnett Disaster Management Dashboard, there are about 200 customers across several localities affected by unplanned power outages due to fallen power lines.

Ergon reported 42 customers in Biggenden Coringa and Dallarnil were currently without power and can expect restoration by midday.

Also due to a power line down, 158 customers are without power until about noon today in the localities of Ban Ban Springs, Biggenden, Byrestown, Coalstoun Lakes, Didcot, Ginoondan, Gooroolba and Wilson Valley.

There are several road closures in the region, but these are all due to planned roadworks.

SOUTH BURNETT

Ergon has reported about 258 customers are affected by a current unplanned power outage, with the loss of power supply due to damage requiring emergency repairs. Crews are currently finding the fault and Ergon is unsure of a estimated restoration time.

The customers without power are in Benarkin, Benarkin North, Blackbutt and Taromeo. (Streets inclue: Bygrave st, D’aguilar hwy, Gibson rd, Grant rd, Hardgrave rd, Hathaway st, Hilary rd, Jones rd, Martin cres, Mclaughlan rd, Muir st, Neumgna rd, Old Esk rd, Scott st, Simpson rd, Steven st, Williams rd)
