More flood warnings

The Burnett has been hit with more heavy rain today after mostly a day’s reprieve from the rain on Sunday.

Vast flooding occurred in particular the South Burnett region last week, but more rain has seen further flooding today, Monday 16 December.

Ban Ban Springs at the intersection of the Burnett Highway, north of Isis Highway/ Ban Ban Road is completely inundated by water.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a minor flood warning for the Boyne River, and a flood warning for the Barker Creek.

STUART AND BOYNE RIVERS

River levels haver risen in the Burnett River catchment due to moderate to heavy rainfall over the past week, with minor flooding observed along the Boyne River at Dunollie.

The Boyne River at Dunollie was at 2.70 metres at 6am on Monday, 16 December and the current river level is estimated to be above the minor flood level of 2.5m.

Showers and thunderstorms resulting in renewed river level rises are possible during the next few days. The situation is being monitored and warnings will be updated accordingly.

BARKER AND BARAMBAH CREEKS

River levels have been observed to elevated along Barker Creek.

Renewed river levels have risen and minor flooding is possible.

ROADS CLOSED

In the North Burnett, Seccombes Road at Degilbo is closed due to flooding.

Meanwhile in the South Burnett region the following roads are impacted by flooding:

Barker Creek Flat: McNamara Rd (road closed to through traffic)

Brooklands: Darley Estate Rd (road closed to through traffic)

Booie: Mondure Crossing Road (road closed to all traffic)

Chelmsford: Flats Rd (all lanes affected)

Chahpingah: Hodges Dip Rd (all lanes affected)

Durong: Shellytop road (road closed to through traffic)

Ficks Crossing: Kangaroo Yard Rd (road closed to through traffic)

Glan Devon: Paige Road (road closed to through traffic)

Inverlaw Kingaroy: Hoopers Road (road closed to through traffic)

Merlwood: Friebergs Rd (all lanes affected)

Murgon: Boat Mountain Rd (all lanes affected)

Redgate: Clovely Ln (road closed to through traffic)

Sandy Ridges: Glenmore Rd, Robin and Lee Rd (road closed to through traffic)

Stonelands: Webbers Bridge Rd (road closed to all traffic)

Wheatlands: Wondai Proston Road (no blockage )

Wondai: Byee Road (road closed to all traffic)

Wengenville: Upper Barker Creek Rd (all lanes affected); Tim Shea Creek Rd, Maidenwell Glencliffe Rd and Wengenville Glencliffe Rd (road closed to through traffic)
