Kingaroy residents snagged a pre-Christmas bargain at Lutheran Services’ Orana Aged Care’s annual Hilltop Markets.
Many of the items for sale on Saturday, 30 November were made by the crafty residents with some working on their projects throughout the year.
Residents’ homemade items included arts and crafts, Christmas cards, jams and preserves, baked goods, candles and jewellery.
Several local businesses also showcased their products for sale amongst the 14 stalls.
While the weather may have been a little gloomy, spirits were high as several hundred shoppers moved indoors and undercover.
The popular markets, which began in 2018, resumed last year after Covid closures.
Raffles donated by local businesses included 10 half-hams from Kingaroy bacon factory, Swickers.
All funds raised on the day support special events for residents.
Orana Aged Care Activities Facilitator Jo Olsen said the residents looked forward to hosting the markets.
“The event provides a wonderful opportunity for residents to invite family and friends, and the wider Kingaroy community into their home for some welcome interaction,’’ Ms Olsen said.
“Orana was abuzz with excitement leading up to the day with everyone joyfully creating craftwork or homemade treats to sell.’’
