Slim Dusty’s legacy and sound continues to live on with the musicians who toured the country with him for decades.
This group of talented musicans are hitting the road this month after a successful headlining show at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Travellin’ Still – The Music of Slim Dusty featuring Pete Denahy will perform in Kingaroy, Bundaberg, Pomona and Brisbane this month, after their successful tour through Victoria and southern NSW last year.
The show revives Slim’s iconic sound, with his original Travelling Country Band reunited to honour the king of Australian country.
After their last show with Slim in 2002, the members of the band went their separate ways—until a reunion reignited their passion to keep Slim’s music alive on stage.
With the blessing of Slim’s family, they’re back: Rod Coe on bass, Jeff Mercer on guitar, Doug Gallacher on drums, and Mike Kerin on fiddle, and multi-instrumentalist and singer Pete Denahy leading the way.
Performing both timeless classics and cherished favorites, Travellin’ Still is a beautiful tribute packed with the sounds and stories that made Slim Dusty a national treasure.
Audiences from Winton’s Way Out West Fest to the Tamworth Country Music Festival and the Gympie Music Muster have loved the show which has everything from nostalgia, laughter, and toe-tapping tunes—a must-see show for any Slim fan.
Don’t miss your chance to experience this iconic tribute to the man who sang our stories like no other.
The Kingaroy show will be held on Thursday, 27 February at the Kingaroy Town Hall.
The other show include a performance at the Bundaberg Brothers Sports Club on Wednesday, 26 February, Majestic Theatre at Pomona on Friday, 28 February and the Old Museum Theatre in Brisbane on Saturday, 1 March. Tickets are available on www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1314604
