Driven to abstraction at Mundubbera

Get ready to be inspired by a series of abstract art at Mundubbera Regional Art Gallery.

The Childers Art Group will feature their Driven to Abstraction exhibition at the Mundubbera gallery from Saturday, 15 March to Saturday, 10 May.

The exhibition features works by 22 artists from the Childers Art Group who explored how abstract art can tell a story, portray an emotional experience, be mysterious, or just have fun without portraying identifiable objects.

Some members thrived with the abstract challenge, while others struggled to let go of the use of reality.

Driven to Abstraction will feature sculptures, as well as many different painting mediums, including oil-acrylic on canvas, ink, mixed media, wax and oil, and paper pulp.

The Childers Art Group members found it was a great adventure, and encourages the community to come see their artwork and find a piece they connect with.

The exhibition will officially open to the public this Saturday, 15 March from 10am to 1pm at the ‘gallery down the alley’ at 30 Lyons Street.

A meet the artists morning tea event will be held on Saturday, 5 April at 10am.
