Wondai Regional Art Gallery’s May exhibition will feature a very talented family.
The Tomlinson Family Collective will showcase their artworks in the main gallery.
South Burnett resident Julie Tomlinson dapples in acrylics and mixed media. Her drawing captures the fluidity of nature, and her community workshops inspire others to create.
Julie’s daughters, Sheree and Katrina, are self-taught photographers, while her granddaughters represent the future of the family’s artistic lineage. Gracie, a self-taught graphite artist, explores light and shadow, while Alicia’s sketching skills continue to evolve.
The younger generation, including Alexandra, Scarlet, Sophia and Makayla, are beginning to refine their talents.
Julie’s sister, Gloria, and nephew, Phoenix, are also exhibiting. This collective reflects a deep-rooted legacy of creativity passed through generations.
The first gallery during May will feature ‘Melaleuca Magic’ by Art in Bark Association of Australia.
This intriguing collection uses naturally coloured barks to create magical pieces of art, where nature inspires a magical feeling of belonging.
Finally, Liz Barratt’s ‘Me and My Camera’ exhibition will take up residence in the third gallery during May.
Liz’s love for photography has led her down interesting paths over the years and she is thrilled to share a glimpse of her work.
Kidz Korner will feature works from Wheatlands State School.
The May exhibition’s official opening will be held on Friday, 2 May from 6pm.
The $5 entry includes a hot and cold supper, punch and live entertainment.
Wondai’s May exhibition will be on display until Saturday, 31 May.
