Residents of the Burnett region, prepare for an unforgettable experience as Perfectly Imperfect takes centre stage.
Scheduled for Sunday, 25 May at 2pm in Kingaroy Town Hall, get ready to be inspired as the immensely talented and South Burnett local Julee-anne Bell and acclaimed pianist Melissa Buchholz join forces to present Perfectly Imperfect.
Their performance can be expected to be a captivating musical experience that promises to leave audiences humming long after the final note as they share in a musical experience that celebrates the beauty of imperfection and the triumph of the human spirit.
The pair are on tour, also bringing their performances to the North Burnett, with a perfromance lined up at the Mundubbera Hall on Friday, 13 June at 7pm, with vocal workshops from 4-5.30pm.
Local singers can also participate in a Kingaroy workshop where they will become part of a massed choir, under the direction of Julee-anne and Melissa, participants will learn some simple choral arrangements and then sing them with Julee-anne in the afternoon concert.
Perfectly Imperfect loves to foster local and emerging talent. Kingaroy’s own Trinity Miller (flutist), along with the Fab Five, a group of young saxophonists from Toowoomba will join artists on stage.
Julee-anne Bell soared to fame as a standout contestant on The Voice Australia in 2021, where she captured hearts nationwide with her stunning vocals and magnetic personality.
Despite being blind since birth, Julee-anne’s talent and determination to break down barriers have inspired individuals from all walks of life.
Her impressive list of credits as a professional musician make her a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
Joining her on this journey is Melissa Buchholz, a professional pianist with over 35 years of experience.
Melissa’s musical prowess has taken her from Australia to stages around the globe, where she has accompanied some of the world’s top artists.
The synergy between Julee-anne and Melissa is palpable, and together, they create a musical atmosphere that is both intimate and electric.
Perfectly Imperfect is not just a concert; it’s a celebration of resilience, talent, and the power of music to unite us all.

Audiences will find themselves transported through Julee-anne’s powerful voice and Melissa’s masterful piano, forging a connection that is as real as it is relevant.
“We are grateful to the South Burnett Chorale, the honourable Deborah (Deb) Frecklington and Kingaroy Office Central for their assistance to bring this project to fruition,” they said.
“This project was funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), a partnership between the South Burnett Regional Council and Queensland Government to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
Minister for Education and the Arts, John-Paul Langbroek said shared that the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) has an impressive track record of supporting local arts and cultural programs across the state, supporting 59 regional councils.
“Each year, RADF programs reach more than one million people across Queensland, securing local arts experiences and cultural tourism opportunities in regional areas, as well as supporting local artists in the lead up to Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” he said.
“For 34 years, Arts Queensland has partnered with regional councils to co-invest in local arts initiatives that generate jobs, community engagement and help boost local economies. The Crisafulli Government will continue to support these vital collaborations.”
