Some Mundubbera residents now have a bit of art hidden in their garden.
Mundubbera Regional Art Gallery hosted a leadlight workshop on Wednesday, 30 April.
They welcomed art tutor Michele Hollister of ‘Mihardwork Glass Art’, who is currently doing a tour of Queensland to share her love for leadlighting.
Mundubbera had nine participants who thoroughly enjoyed the day, and each completed a garden post leadlight feature.
They were each given an ironbark post and instructed to draw out a basic glass design, before learning how to cut the glass, shape it, lead it up, solder the joints and then putty and polish the creation.
This resulted in several stunning glass designs.
The techniques that the participants learned on the day, have been honed by Michelle over her more than 30-year career. Participants found Michelle a very easy going and helpful tutor in this unique artform.
