Do you have an old phone you are not using?

Queensland police are inviting households to donate their old phones to help victims of Domestic Violence.

Australian charity DV Safe Phone provides a chance to repurpose mobile phones to victims of domestic violence, ensuring access to emergency services and support networks.

The charity collects, refurbishes, and distributes phones through trusted frontline services, ensuring security and privacy.

Unfortunately in a Domestic Violence relationship, one of the first things to get broken is a mobile phone, isolating the victim and restricting their ability to contact family and friends for help.

Locations in the North and South Burnett you can donate your phones include:

• Gayndah Department of Transport and Main Roads (20 Capper St, Gayndah)

• Childers Department of Transport and Main Roads (67 Churchill St, Childers)

• Murgon Police Station (38 Krebs St, Murgon)

• Cherbourg Police Station (11 Fisher St, Cherbourg)

• TAFE Queensland Kingaroy Campus (cnr Bunya Highway and Geritz Rd)

• Deb Frecklington MP – Nanango Electorate Office (2/34 Alford St, Kingaroy)

• Kingaroy Department of Transport and Main Roads customer service centre (18 Alford St, Kingaroy)

• Kingaroy Police Station (11 Alford St, Kingaroy)

• Nanango Department of Transport and Main Roads (Nanango Court House, 30 Henry St, Nanango)

May marks Queensland’s Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, an annual initiative to raise awareness of domestic and family violence, highlight available support services and send a clear message that violence is not tolerated.
