Come on an adventure around the world with the South Burnett Community Orchestra.

The orchestra’s Saturday evening, 14 June concert will proudly be raising funds for the Royal Flying Doctors Service.

The community orchestra will be performing a range of classical and more modern pieces from nations such as Finland, South Korea, Italy, Hungary and America.

Some of the pieces are very cinematic and dramatic, while others will more gently transport you to lands overseas.

Ticket sale profits and raffle tickets will help raise money for the crucial life-saving care the Royal Flying Doctors Service do.

In 2024, the RFDS, tasked by Queensland Health, retrieved 457 patients from the Burnett region -this included 103 in the North Burnett and 354 in the South Burnett.

RFDs is the “transport of choice” for Queensland Health patients whose conditions can not be managed in their local regional hospital.

The emergency retrieval service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and delivers care to one person every two minutes on average.

RFDS also delivers a broad range of essential primary and preventative healthcare services, including oral health, mental health, telehealth and health promotion.

South Burnett Community Orchestra’s Royal Flying Doctors Service fundraising concert will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall on Saturday, 14 June. Doors will open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

The orchestra is made up of community musicians, ranging from high school aged students to retirees in their 80s, and is led by Musical Director Jo Kennedy.

Supper boxes to enjoy at the interval can be pre-ordered for $20 each by Wednesday, 10 June via trybooking, and drinks will be available for purchase on the night.

Tickets are $20 for adults, and $10 for primary school aged children. Tickets will be available at the door and online via: trybooking.com/events/landing/1400437
