Blackbutt Singers ‘flew’ back into the groove of the 1970s to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
The singers’ concert, which was held at the Yarraman Hall on Sunday, 8 June, was well attended.
The audience thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, often singing along with some of their nostalgic favourite tunes such as Elton John, ABBA and Cat Stevens.
Guest artist Nathan Hartley, who continued the 70s theme, was a popular addition to the concert. Nathan performed some solo tunes with his guitar, reprising songs from 70s artists like John Denver and Rod Stewart.
The Blackbutt Singers have welcomed a new Musical Director Julie Simpson this year, who led the choir through the June concert.
The concert helped raise some funds for the crucial aeromedical service.
In 2024, the Royal Flying Doctors Service, tasked by Queensland Health, retrieved 457 patients from the Burnett region -this included 103 in the North Burnett and 354 in the South Burnett.
