Residents in the Gayndah and surrounding areas are advised there are currently multiple hazard reduction burns in the area.

The Queensland Fire Department stated that these fires were all under control, but smoke is currently affecting the area.

The smoke may make it hard for some people to breathe and may decrease visibility for drivers.

QFD stated no properties were at risk.

What you should do:

– Stay inside and close windows and doors.

– Keep respiratory medication close by.

– Avoid driving through smoke if you can.

– Watch out for firefighters working in the area.

– Do not fly drones around the fire. Drones affect air operations.
