During the NAIDOC celebrations at the Family Fun Day at Memorial Park, Kingaroy, artist Robert Langton was hard at work.

With the support of his family, he brought the community together to create a collective artwork.

Mr Langton created the foundation of the artwork which was based on the NAIDOC 2025 theme, the Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy.

Those attending the event, both young and old, came together to add their own handprints or footprints, sharing their thoughts and knowledge.

Mr Langton explained the handprints represent the next generation, power, strength and the action of communicating together.

The yarning circles pictured in the artwork represent the strength and unity and vision of everyone coming together to share stories, songs and artowrks.

Those who attended the NAIDOC celebrations also had an opportunity to create their own artwork with guidance from Robert and Robyn Langton.

The South Burnett Youth Council members also got involved by engaging with the community through decorating clap sticks and making sand art.

These art projects were generously funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund.

The community artwork will initially be put on display at the Kingaroy Library, but will be moved around the region’s council buildings for others to enjoy.
