Wondai and surrounds residents are advised that smoke is currently affecting the area, coming from a hazard reduction burn in Cherbourg National Park.
The warning came on Tuesday, 19 August at 11.51am.
Residents are encouraged to stay inside and to close windows and doors to keep the smoke out, and to keep respiratory medication close by if needed.
Avoid driving through smoke if possible and to watch out for firefighters working in the area.
It is discouraged to fly drones around the fire, as they can affect air operations.
It is important to remember that smoke can make it hard for some people to breathe, and make it hard during driving to see clearly, so avoid unnecessary driving.
Updates will be issued if needed.
