South Burnett landholders can apply for the region’s latest wild dog and feral pig coordinated baiting program.
South Burnett Regional Council will conduct the biosecurity program across the region from Monday 8 September to Friday 12 September.
To encourage more landholders to participate the council has teamed up with SunPork Group, the owners of Kingaroy’s Swickers pig abattoir, to provide meat free of charge for those taking part in the program.
The program aligns with Queensland’s Biosecurity Act 2014 which requires councils to take all reasonable measures to minimise biosecurity risks posed by invasive animals.
Anyone interested in participating in the baiting program must register their interest by Thursday, 4 September to allow sufficient time to receive the baiting information pack and ensure all requirements are met prior to attending the baiting station.
For further information and to register your intention to participate, contact the South Burnett Regional Council’s biosecurity officer on 4189 9100.
