South Burnett Regional Council advised that the unsealed section of Morris Street, Blackbutt would be closed from from 11 August.

The council reported that there will be some closure to vehicle access to properties along the street for a few days while construction occurs for new kerb and channel works.

Access for residents will be managed through the work zone, and works are expected to be completed between Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 5pm.

The project will replace the existing unsealed pavement in Morris Street, including the connection to Miller Street, with a sealed pavement and kerb and channel.

This project is proudly funded under the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland program.

The Morris Street works are a component of the Parking and Roads Construction and Upgrades project, which received $2 million in funding through the 2024-27 Works for Queensland Program.

The construction is expected to last about six weeks, weather and machinery permitting.
