
Families and community members come on down to the council swimming pools, winter is over and from Blackbutt to Kingaroy, pools are reopening.
This Saturday, 20 September, pools are reopening for your benefit and gain—it’s your chance to get in your togs for a splashing experience.
They are reopening for the wonderful season of spring, so be ready to take off your coats and dive back into the region’s pools.
Blackbutt, South Burnett Aquatic Centre (Nanango), WJ Lang Memorial Pool (Kingaroy), Wondai Swimming Pool and Murgon Jubilee Swimming Pool will all open for the warmer months, from this weekend. Sadly, Proston Pool will remain closed for the time being.
On offer around the South Burnett there are 50m heated outdoor pools, 25m heated pools and children’s wading pools. The Nanango Pool features the region’s only indoor learn to swim pool, and hydrotherapy pool.
Take this opportunity to swim laps, attend water aerobics or other fitness classes, adults and children can learn to swim, mum and bub sessions, swimming block lessons over Christmas break, improve your approach at a stroke, or join one of the many swimming clubs.
Over the school holidays, the Wondai pool will offer a free community learn to dive clinic on Saturday 20 September, intensive block lessons from 22 to 26 September, and a junior lifeguard accreditation program from 29 September to 3 October.
Entry fees consist of $3 for children under the age of 12, to $4.50 for adults, non-swimmers will not be charged.
