Family fun in Mount Perry

Mount Perry will come alive with art, motorbikes and woodchop events over the next fortnight.

In Mount Perry, on Saturday, 27 September an art exhibition opening will be held at 1pm at the Shelley Kelly Gallery, 58 Heusman Street, Mount Perry.

The art exhibition being hosted at this location is called Pawtraiture which is an exhibition of masterpieces by Elizabeth Dau and Kerri Dixon with their amazing pieces inspired by the wild.

All their work featured in this show captures creature creations from the essence of a wild and mangy beasts to a pure and innocent, domesticated furball.

Elizabeth Dau, a mixed media artist from Maryborough, enjoys bringing personality to cats and dogs through colour and texture in her ‘Raining Cats and Dogs’ collection. She favours pastel, coloured pencils and watercolour to explore the quirks and charms of her furry friends.

Meanwhile, Brooweena artist Kerri Dixon enjoys working in soft pastels, charcoal and graphite to capture wildlife and nature. Her ‘Stripped Back’ series focuses on capturing the raw essence of animals without colour, just tone, texture, and presence.

The gallery are casting this event as a free event with light refreshments as you enter the building, and accepting as much help as possible through volunteering or donations.

A fortnight later, on Saturday, 11 October, Mount Perry’s big day of events will be held.

Mount Perry’s art exhibition, Pawtraiture, will be open from 9am at the gallery for the public to view.

Meanwhile, the annual Mount Perry Car and Bike show will be held at the skate park.

The PubChop Woodchop events and entertainment will be run during the lunch to dinner sessions at the Mount Perry Grand Hotel.
