Peace amongst a fear-filled world

The world today is in turmoil, with all the problems we face.

We have the economic crisis, the threat of terrorism, the threat of imaginary fear born by imaginary so called viruses, increased violence and crime, natural disasters, freedom of speech and conscious is threatened even here in Australia.

We could go on and on. We live in times like these.

Many of us are wondering what is going on? Why do these things happen? Will it never end?

The Bible does talk about events that will happen prior to Jesus’ coming (see Matthew 24).

This is a time when life goes on as usual but also a time where many things will happen in nature and politics around the world.

While Jesus was on this earth, he told us that there would be trouble and lots of it.

He also told us that he would give us his peace (John 16:33).

So according to Jesus’ own words we can have peace while there are problems all around us.

We do not have to worry what tomorrow brings because we can trust Him who is life, who is the life giver.

-Heinrich Rusterholz, Seventh Day Adventist minister
