Works have begun this week on the replacement of an old water main in Kingaroy.
South Burnett Regional Council announced the aged water main along William Street Kingaroy, between Haly Street and Alford Street, was scheduled to start the week beginning Monday, 5 January.
These works are part of the council’s capital works program, and will be carried out in stages between 6am to 3pm.
The water main replacement is expected to take around five weeks, weather and machinery permitting.
To provide a safe work environment for council staff, contractors and users, signage and minor traffic diversions will be in place during the time of works to control flow of traffic and ensure pedestrian safety.
Motorists and pedestrians are requested to travel with extra care, to drive to the prevailing road conditions and to adhere to signage.
