The Gayndah RSL hall was home to an exclusive documentary screening last night.
The ‘Bravery and Betrayal’ documentary tells the true story of the S.A.S. in Afghanistan.
After the 9/11 bombings of New York’s World Trade Centre in 2001, the Australian Government committed to sending the Aussie S.A.S. troops to Afghanistan, assisting with the US led coalition in response to the terrorist attack.
The 2025 film written and directed by Simon J. Heath tells the story of the S.A.S. soldiers who share their raw experiences of what really happened in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The documentary dives into exclusive, never before seen interviews with officers and soldiers of the S.A.S.
Additionally, Australia’s Prime Ministers of that era, Kevin Rudd, John Howard and Tony Abbott shed light on what they knew, and the brave pilots of the American Army reveal what they saw.
Have your tissues ready as wives, mothers, widows, and children left behind tell their loved ones’ heartbreaking stories about being involved in the conflict.
The documentary was open to the Gayndah community, and was displayed at the Gayndah RSL Hall on Friday, 16 January.
